As the Connecticut Whale continue to grow their close relationship with their fans, the entire team gathered Tuesday night at the Winterfest skating rink in beautiful Bushnell Park, in the heart of downtown Hartford, for a two hour free skating event.

Fans had the opportunity to spend quality time with their favorite Whale  players as well as their team mascot, Pucky. Whale players could be seen throughout the night signing and taking pictures. They also signed cards, jersey’s and had plenty of laughs with their loyal fans while doing laps around the rink.

Fans of all ages and skill level attended on a brisk winter night, but from the look on the faces of those participating, EVERYONE was having a good time.

This officially sanctioned Whale event was presented by the iQuilt partnership and the City of Hartford,

The Winterfest Rink is open daily through Monday, January 21, 2013.

Last year at Winterfest, 50,000 people throughout the region enjoyed free skating and winter festivities.

Will Winterfest top that number this season? Only time will tell.
