Swamp Rabbits Set Roster Ahead of Opening Weekend
Greenville unveils 22-player list prior to opening the 2017-18 regular season at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

Greenville, SC – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, announced the team’s full roster for the 2017-18 regular season. Greenville begins its campaign tonight at 7 p.m. against the Wheeling Nailers and is the first contest in the ECHL season.
The Swamp Rabbits roster includes eight returners to the team from the 2016-17 regular season including Bretton Cameron who returns for his seventh season in Greenville. Top-scoring defenseman Joe Houk also returns after a career-best campaign last year. Goaltender Brandon Halverson enters his second pro season, joined by Ty Rimmer in the crease who returns to the United States after previously playing one season in the Alps Hockey League.
Newcomers bolster the Swamp Rabbits lineup prior to the Opening Weekend, including AHL experienced forwards Caleb Herbert, Branden Troock, and veteran Curt Gogol. Greenville has also accepted rookies Sergey Zborovskiy, Brenden Kotyk, and Dawson Leedahl, from the Hartford Wolf Pack in addition to second-year forwards Adam Chapie and Malte Stromwall.

The final roster moves also include the release of defenseman Jake Schultz from his try-out contract with the organization. The Swamp Rabbits acquired Stromwall from the Hartford Wolf Pack this week, rounding the roster up to 20 skaters in addition to the two goalies.
The Swamp Rabbits begin the season at home for the first time since Oct. 14, 2011, where they also faced the Wheeling Nailers at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The Swamp Rabbits have earned wins in five of its seven home openers in franchise history.
OPENING WEEKEND: Greenville begins the season TONIGHT night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena against the Wheeling Nailers. CLEAR BAG POLICY: Beginning with the Swamp Rabbits home opener on October 13th, the Bon Secours Wellness Arena will be implementing a clear bag policy for all events. Each ticketed guest will be permitted to carry one large clear bag, either a Ziploc style bag or a 12”x6”x12” clear bag, plus a small clutch purse (4.5”x6.5”).
