Greenville, SC – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, announced in conjunction with the ECHL that forward Caleb Herbert has been selected as the CCM / ECHL Player of the Month for November.
Herbert, 26, played in 13 games during the month, netting 11 goals and adding 12 assists for 23 points. The forward also led the ECHL with a plus-12 rating, earning recognition as the AMI Graphics Plus Performer of the month last Friday. Herbert was also announced as the Sher-Wood Hockey / ECHL Player of the Week for his nine-point (5G, 4A) performance in four games from Nov. 13-19.
The versatile skater recorded at least a point in all but one game during the month and recorded four different three-point games. Two of Herbert’s goals during the month were game-deciding goals, helping Greenville to a 7-5 victory over Kansas City on Nov. 1 and a 6-3 win against Atlanta on Nov. 15.
The Bloomington, Minnesota native has continued his production into December, leading the ECHL with 33 points (15G, 18A) and a plus-19 rating. His 15 goals are also tied for the league lead and his 18 assists are tied for third in the league.
The 6-foot skater has notched 83 points (48G, 35A) in 91 career ECHL games with Greenville, Idaho, and South Carolina, adding 20 points (10G, 10A) in 80 career American Hockey League games with Texas and Hershey.
Prior to turning pro in 2014, Herbert played three seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Herbert led his club in his junior season and posted 89 points (32G, 57A) in 112 career games with the Bulldogs.
