Statement Week For Swamp Rabbits

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits (28-19-4-1), proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, started a week’s worth of home games against the North Division leading Manchester Monarchs and South Division leading Florida Everblades. Thursday night the Swamp Rabbits began the week with a teeter-totter matchup against Manchester. Trailing 3-2 in the final two minutes of regulation, Angelo Miceli netted the game-tying goal to force overtime before scoring the game-winning goal in the extra time. Two nights later, Greenville fans saw similar heroics. The Florida Everblades held a 4-2 lead early in the third period before the Swamp Rabbits scored three unanswered goals. Bretton Cameron deflected in Greenville’s second power-play goal of the game, followed by another game-tying goal from Miceli. With exactly one minute left on the clock, Justin DaSilva fired in his sixth goal of the season and first career game-winner. The win lifted Greenville to a 7-0-0-0 record at home dating back to January 15th and also continued a streak of five consecutive wins. Despite a close contest against the Everblades on Sunday, the Swamp Rabbits couldn’t complete the sweep, dropping the contest by a score of 4-3. Continue reading
