AETNA AND WOLF PACK CONTINUE TO GROW “AETNA AMATEUR HOCKEY” PROGRAM

Nearly 100 teams and over 1500 skaters participated during 2016-17 season

HARTFORD, April 20, 2017:  The 2016-17 Hartford Wolf Pack season featured another banner year for the Wolf Pack’s “Aetna Amateur Hockey” program.

Featuring opportunities for amateur hockey teams of all age levels, from six and seven-year-old Mites to adult-league squads, to play full-length games before and after Wolf Pack home games at the XL Center, the Aetna Amateur Hockey program brought 96 teams to the XL Center ice in 2016-17.  That means that more than 1,500 players had the chance to show their skills on the same ice surface where the Wolf Pack players strive to make their way to the National Hockey League. New York has earned at least one point in 14 of its last 20 games (11-6-3), including eight of its last 11 contests (6-3-2) and six of its last eight games (5-2-1). The Blueshirts have won 18 of their last 30 games (18-8-4), as well as 21 of their last 35 games (21-10-4). The Rangers have also earned at least one point in 31 of their last 45 games (26-14-5), including 30 of their last 43 games (25-13-5) and 29 of their last 41 games (24-12-5).
