The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forward Andrew Rowe has been reassigned to the team by the Philadelphia Flyers from the Adirondack Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

Tonight the Greenville Road Warriors continue their three-game series at Germain Arena against the Florida Everblades. The Road Warriors will try to build on last night’s 6-3 win that snapped a four-game road losing streak.

GREENVILLE ROAD WARRIORS ANNOUNCE SCHEDULE CHANGES

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today two changes to the second half of their 2011-12 schedule. One change involves a home game and the other an away game.

The Road Warriors have moved their home game originally scheduled for Thursday, March 1, 2012 to Saturday, March 3, 2012. The game against the Trenton Titans will get under way at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. Fans who had purchased tickets for Thursday, March 1 and cannot attend on March 3 should take their tickets to the point of purchase where they may be exchanged or refunded. The Road Warriors will host a Faith and Family Night on March 3 with special discounted tickets for church groups! Contact the Road Warriors at 864-674-PUCK (7825) to get your group booked for Faith and Family Night.

ROAD WARRIORS OUTLAST GWINNETT FOR OT WIN

The Greenville Road Warriors claimed a 5-4 overtime win over the Gwinnett Gladiators on Sunday afternoon and ran their record to 23-16-2 on the season.

The first period felt like the early rounds of a championship boxing match with the opponents feeling one another out and trying to gauge one another. The Road Warriors earned the only power play chance of the period but could not convert despite a couple of shots. Not long after returning to full strength, Gwinnett took a 1-0 advantage when Aaron Bendickson sprung Joey Haddad behind the defense with a breakaway pass. His shot beat Jason Missiaen to the blocker side for his 13th goal of the season. Missiaen’s counterpart, Jeff Jakaitis made 10 saves in the first to keep Greenville off the board.

PATRICK SAPP IN ‘DA HOUSE – FRIDAY

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that former Clemson linebacker Patrick Sapp will be on hand to meet fans and drop the ceremonial first puck at the Road Warriors’ game this Friday against Gwinnett.

Sapp played for the Tigers from 1992 to 1995 and lettered all four seasons. He began his career at Clemson as a quarterback and complied 2,278 yards and nine touchdowns in 14 starts over three seasons. He converted to linebacker in 1995 and led Clemson with 5.5 sacks that season. He went on to be drafted by the San Diego Charges in the second round of the NFL Draft (51 overall) in 1996 and enjoyed a four-year NFL career with the Chargers and Arizona Cardinals. In 63 NFL games Sapp recorded 57 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.

BRENDAN CONNOLLY LOANED TO TEXAS STARS

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that forward Brendan Connolly has been loaned to the American Hockey League’s Texas Stars. The Stars are the top minor league affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars.
