        GOALS GALORE – The Rangers lead the NHL in goals (158) and goals per game (3.47) this season. Prior to 2016-17, the last season in which the Rangers recorded more than 158 goals through the first 45 games was 1995-96. The Rangers have recorded 43 goals over the last 10 games, registering at least four goals in eight of the 10 contests. The Blueshirts have also tallied five or more goals in five of the last eight games.

        THREE’S COMPANY – The Chris KreiderDerek StepanMats Zuccarello line registered eight points (three goals, five assists) in tonight’s game, and each player registered at least two points in the contest. The Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello line has tallied 38 points (15 goals, 23 assists) over the last 10 games, and each of the three players has recorded at least 12 points in those 10 contests. HARTFORD, CT – Playing a near-perfect road game, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers ground their way to a 2-1 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack and ended a mini-three-game losing streak.

The Pack (12-19-3-1) head to Providence for a 3 pm face-off with the Bruins tomorrow afternoon.

“What could have been better? I’m not crazy about certain aspects of our game. We didn’t generate enough offense. On the offensive side, we didn’t have (second and third efforts), but I thought on the back side, we certainly did,” a dejected head coach, Ken Gernander said of his squad who were outshot by nearly two to one margin, 30-17. YEAR IN REVIEW – The Rangers posted a 51-26-6 record in 83 regular season games during the 2016 calendar year. The Blueshirts were one of three NHL teams that earned at least 50 regular season wins during the 2016 calendar year. In addition, the Rangers are the only NHL team that registered 50 or more regular season wins in each of the last two calendar years (2015 and 2016).

HATS OFF – At least one Ranger has recorded a hat trick in each of the last two games (Matt Puempel on Dec. 29 at Arizona and Chris Kreider tonight at Colorado). The last time the Blueshirts have had a player register a hat trick in two consecutive games was Dec. 23, 2014 vs. Washington (Rick Nash) and Dec. 27, 2014 vs. New Jersey (Derek Stepan).

THREE’S COMPANY – The line of Chris Kreider-Derek Stepan-Mats Zuccarello tallied seven points (three goals, four assists) in tonight’s contest, and each player registered at least two points in the contest. The Kreider-Stepan-Zuccarello line has tallied 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) over the last four games. In addition, the three players registered 46 points – including 17 goals – in the Rangers’ 15 games in December this season. –        POWER SURGE – The Rangers were 4-for-7 (9:15) on the power play in the contest. The Blueshirts recorded four power-play goals in a game for the first time since Feb. 4, 2010, vs. Washington and for the first time in a road game since Dec. 29, 2007 at Toronto (five power play goals).
