GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors split a pair of road games against South Division rival Gwinnett last weekend and earned their first win of the season. This weekend they welcome the Florida Everblades to the BI-LO Center for the first time this season as they host a pair of games.

GREENVILLE PUTS ONE IN THE WIN COLUMN

Greenville Road Warriors     VERSUS      Gwinnett Gladiators

DULUTH, GA - The Greenville Road Warriors utilized two power play goals to take down the Gwinnett Gladiators by a 4-2 score on Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The win was Greenville’s first of the season and improved its record to 1-3-0.

GREENVILLE, SC – The Greenville Road Warriors were unable to earn a win last week in the opening weekend of the 2011-12 season against a pair of Atlantic Division opponents. This week they travel to Gwinnett, and renew the Battle of I-85, in search of their first win of the season.

WARRIORS ARE HOME TO TAKE A RIDE ON THE READING

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors finish off their opening weekend tonight by hosting the Reading Royals. Greenville is looking for its first win of the season after falling to Wheeling on Friday night at the BI-LO Center.

The Road Warriors are looking to shake off their season opening 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Wheeling Nailers by taking down the Reading Royals tonight. The Royals come to Greenville having lost 4-3 in overtime to the South Carolina Stingrays in North Charleston on Friday night. It is the first time the Road Warriors and Royals have met since March 24, 2011; a game in which the Road Warriors came out with a 5-2 win and grabbed sole possession of first place in the Eastern Conference. Greenville will try to get its offense to be more productive after being held to one goal and 20 shots in the season opener.

GRENVILLE NAILED IN OPENER

Greenville Road Warriors VERSUS      Wheeling Nailers

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors fell to the Wheeling Nailers 6-1 on Friday night in the opener of their 2011-12 season.

The Road Warriors got off to a quick start in the first period and grabbed a 1-0 lead before the game was a minute old. A hooking minor against Wheeling’s Chris Barton 25 seconds into the game put Greenville on the power play. After a faceoff win, and a quick pass from Wes Cunningham, Jeff Prough wristed a shot past Patrick Killeen at 47 seconds of the first for the advantage. Wheeling’s Paul Crowder netted the equalizer at 5:16 as the puck bounced off of him in front of the net and past a surprised Jerry Kuhn. The Road Warriors’ rookie netminder surrendered a goal at 9:11 to Chris Minella and Wheeling grabbed a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

GREENVILLE, SC - The Greenville Road Warriors announced today their opening roster for the 2011-12 season. The team also announced its captain and two alternate captains.

The Road Warriors open the 2011-12 season with nine skaters returning from the club that won the South Division and Eastern Conference regular season titles in 2010-11. They are joined by 11 new faces, six of whom are rookies at the professional level.

WHEELING, WV - The Greenville Road Warriors suffered a 3-2 defeat on Wednesday night in Game Three of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal against the Wheeling Nailers. Greenville now trails the series two games to one with Game Four coming on Friday night in Wheeling.
