WHO’S MINDING THE NET? 

Editor’s note: The goaltender position in Greenville has been in a state of flux the past couple of days.  Bridgeport borrowed then returned Nic Riopel and now have recalled him again. Jason Missiaen was sent to Hartford to cover Cam Talbot’s back while Chad Johnson was away on personal family business and now Missiaen is headed to Chicago to rejoin the team after being sent back by the Whale today. As a result, Greenville needed some help and signed Bryan Hince.

The Greenville Road Warriors announced today that they have signed goaltender Bryan Hince out of Knoxville of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Hince joins the Road Warriors for tonight’s game at the Sears Centre against the Chicago Express. With the Knoxville Ice Bears, Hince was 16-1-0 with 2.43 goals-against average, and a .919 save percentage. His win total leads the SPHL while he ranks third in goals-against average and save percentage. The 25-year-old goaltender is in his second year of professional hockey and has a career record of 31-15-0 – all with Knoxville. Prior to turning pro, the native of Kapukasing, Ontario, played two seasons at NCAA D-III SUNY Plattsburgh and was 44-7-2.

The Road Warriors have also retained John Nauta as an emergency backup goalie for tonight’s game against the Express. Faceoff from the Sears Centre is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. and fans can follow the action online at America One or greenvilleroadwarriors.com
